Allison Adams Tucker’s WANDERlust

Aug 13, Sunday - 12pm Noon
Jade Leaf Stage

Described by the Examiner as “lustrous in any language – a vocalist who clarifies every note within a hair’s breath,” multi-lingual vocalist Allison Adams Tucker creates a unique travel memoir in music with jazz-driven songs that span countries and genres in 6 languages.  As All About Jazz adds, “Tucker’s voice is a beautiful instrument – one that floats, flies, and seduces with its no-fuss delivery.”

Born in San Diego to classically trained musical parents, Tucker started singing before she could speak and began performing in front of audiences at age 5. Growing up on the border with Mexico, Allison was exposed to intermingling cultures, and her love for languages and world cultures also began at an early age. Allison’s vocal palette has been colored by her experience in a variety of musical genres throughout her life, from classical to punk rock and even a cappella Elizabethan madrigals, and in 2005 she found her home in jazz.

Tucker has entertained audiences in Japan, Europe, Mexico and the US, including the Blue Note New York, Ronnie Scott’s London, Herb Alpert’s Vibrato Los Angeles, The Jazz Kitchen Indianapolis, Idyllwild Jazz in the Pines Festival, Hawaii Public Radio, Takatsuki Jazz Street Festival Osaka, Body & Soul Tokyo, Le Baiser Salé Paris, Music Inn Rome, Lucca Jazz Donna Festival Tuscany, among others.

Her third album, WANDERlust, was recorded in NYC under award-winning producer Matt Pierson (Brad Mehldau, Jane Monheit) and features a stunning all-star ensemble. WANDERlust journeys into new territory with stories and music from Björk and Christina Perri to Astor Piazzolla, Pat Metheny, Antonio Carlos Jobim and Ennio Morricone.
