Amy D.

Aug 13, Saturday - 12pm Noon
Hammer4 Stage

Neo-soul artist Amy D. is bringing midnight ensembles into the mainstream light. Her voice effortlessly plays like an instrument with an endearing timbre that compliments her reflective and sophisticated songwriting.

With songs that imbue an alluring blend of nostalgia and inspiration, Amy has established herself as a notable musician in Northern California. Her forthcoming album, ‘Like You’ features a blend of jazz and world music elements, coupled with just the right amount of R&B pop sensibilities. Both singles from the album released this year, ‘Unrequited’ and the title track of the album ‘Like You,’ a colorful anthem for self-love with a music video to match, were met with critical acclaim.

The multi-faceted vocalist and songwriter began navigating toward expressing her own solo material in recent years. Aiming to expand out of her comfort zone, Amy D. jumped headfirst into her solo career by recruiting producer and master keyboardist Michael Aaberg (Goapele, Lalah Hathaway, Ambrose Akinmusire) for her album, ‘Like You’, released in 2019. Spanning a spectrum of  jazz, world, soul, and R&B influence, the album is a must-have for anyone who enjoys music that is emotive, colorful and inspiring.
