Bloco do Sol is a community ensemble of youth and adult students based in San Jose at the School of Arts and Culture at the Mexican Heritage Plaza. Watch for this special pop-up performance in the Latin Tropical Stage area.
The ensemble has provided exciting performances featuring Brazilian Drumming and Percussion music at the Mexican Heritage Plaza Theater, at the Cesar Chavez Day Celebration, the Sub Zero Festival, the San Jose JapanTown Film Festival, and San Jose’s Music in the Park.
Director Jimmy Biala teaches Brazilian Percussion programs to many youth students in the Evergreen, San Jose Unified and Campbell Unified School districts and is a faculty for the the San Jose Jazz Camp and the California Brazil Camp.
