Chickenbone Slim & the Biscuits featuring Laura Chavez

Aug 13, Sunday - 2:15pm
Blues/Big Easy Stage

Chickenbone Slim, aka Larry Teves, is an original Blues/Americana touring artist based in San Diego and has been playing his primitive, tough, bare knuckle electric blues for over 25 years.

In 2016, his album Gone was nominated for Best Blues Album by the San Diego Music Awards, and 2018 saw the nomination of The Big Beat, which shot to #16 on the Living Blues Album Charts within one month of its release, in that same category. His 2020 album Sleeper garnered rave reviews, and in November of 2021, he released Serve It To Me Hot, mixing blues with west coast swing, rockabilly and roots rock. It was nominated for Best Jazz or Blues CD at the 2022 San Diego Music Awards.

Chickenbone Slim’s live blues performances are organic, situational, and distinct, and always a unique experience, as no two shows are ever alike. The sound may be Chicago-style blues one time, Southern Delta the next, with maybe some Texas blues thrown in for good measure. Whatever sound he serves up, it’s always a good time!
