Footnotes Jazz is a San Francisco Bay Area ensemble that showcases contemporary and original big band jazz. Its founding members once played together in the Foothill College jazz program, before going independent under the leadership of Lori Stotko.

Footnotes covers contemporary composers such as Gordon Goodwin, Tom Kubis and Vince Mendoza in addition to classics from Thad Jones, Duke Ellington and Sammy Nestico. The band also features original sounds by local Bay Area composers such as Wayne Wallace, Rick Walsh, Tod Dickow, Howard Cespedes and their own pianist Paul Mernyk.
