Vocalist Kia Fay’s delivery overflows with ethos and pathos, with keyboardist/chief songwriter Ash Maynor and drummer Will Jenkins creating a framework for the band’s ethereal sound. The group is augmented with other instrumentalists in live settings for a full aural and visual experience.
Ghost & the City’s infectious sound has been documented on two EP’s. Patchwork Soul was released in 2015 and set the foundation for TIME, which came out in late March. “Please Forgive My Heart,” from soul legend Bobby Womack’s 2012 The Bravest Man in the World, is a surprising yet most welcome cover among a half dozen other original tracks.
Having shared concert bills with Hiatus Kaiyote, Kneebody and The Internet, Ghost & the City’s 2018 Summer Fest set is a must-see performance for fans of the future.
