Isaiah Sharkey

Aug 12, Friday - 8pm
UA Local 393 Break Room Stage

Isaiah Sharkey is poised to take center stage as he fuses together his background in rock, gospel, jazz, R&B, blues and funk to create an original sound with an unmistakable dose of soul.

Isaiah has quietly built a reputation as a “guitarist’s guitarist,” first as a child prodigy paying his dues in Chicago’s jazz and blues clubs and later touring with D’Angelo, with whom he won a Grammy Award in 2016. More recently, he’s been sideman for John Mayer and has played alongside artists like Paul Simon, Patti LaBelle, Chris Dave and the DrumHedz, Lupe Fiasco, Faith Evans, The Winans and Raphael Saadiq.

He stepped boldly into the spotlight with his first album, 2017’s [Love.Life.Live], which earned him an iHeart Radio Artist of the Month Award for his single “It’s a Shame” featuring DJ Jazzy Jeff. He quickly followed up with 2019’s Love Is The Key (The Cancerian Theme) and is currently working on his third solo album, tentatively called Black Sunshine.
