Latin Tropical Stage
Formed by Cuban singer, songwriter and percussionist Mario “Mayito” Salomón, Timbeko incorporates elements of R&B, gospel, jazz and funk into the sounds of popular Cuban Salsa, also known as Timba.
The group made their debut on the streets of Oakland at the 2018 Temescal Street Fair. They’ve since appeared at numerous festivals and venues across the Bay Area, including Oaktoberfest, Hayward Latin Jazz Festival, and San Francisco Carnaval. They’ve also performed in some of the Bay Area’s best clubs, like Bimbo’s 365 Club in San Francisco and La Peña in Berkeley, and appeared live as part of “Con Sabor” on KPFA Radio.
Their single “Nadie sabe nada/Se coge pa’ eso” features Yordys Larrazabal, lead singer of Maykel Blanco y su Salsa Mayor.
