A native of Los Angeles, Grammy-nominated drummer Sammy Miller has become known for his unique maturity and relentless focus on making music that feels good, above all else. Miller formed The Congregation upon completing his Master’s degree at The Juilliard School, combining virtuosity with a calling to bring people together through music and an embracing theatricality.
While independently The Congregation’s members have performed and recorded with notable artists including Wynton Marsalis, Lady Gaga and Queen Latifah at venues including the White House, Lincoln Center and the Hollywood Bowl, they have opted to stick together to spread joy throughout the world. As audiences can attest, they bring this vibrant, embracing spirit every time they take the stage, playing timeless classics by the likes of Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton and Scott Joplin along with their own spirited originals.
