Originally from Vancouver, she honed her sound in the clubs of Toronto. Brazda’s sassy songs and pin-up girl style have made a startling impression, paying homage to the golden era while remaining daringly modern. She’s performed at such notable festivals as the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, Toronto International Jazz Festival and UK’s Bestival.
With her debut EP, Cabin Fever, Brazda burst onto the scene in early 2012, hitting #1 on the iTunes Canada Jazz chart as well as receiving play on CBC Radio 1, Jazz FM 91.1 and college radio stations across Canada.
Brazda comes out swinging on her debut full-length album, Bandshell, delivering a more polished flair and updating her vintage vibe from flats to heels. The 10 tracks examine affairs of the heart, and are neatly packaged with Brazda’s superb vocals—equal parts Billie Holiday and Amy Winehouse. Bandshell also debuted at #1 on the iTunes Jazz Chart in Canada and was ranked #5 by Jazz FM 91 in Toronto on their list of Top 10 Canadian jazz albums of 2015.
