Vanessa Collier

Aug 12, Saturday - 5:30pm
Blues/Big Easy Stage

Vanessa Collier is a sight to see, with head-turning, fiery and passionate performances. A Berklee College of Music graduate and the 2022 Contemporary Blues Female Artist of the Year, Blues Blast Magazine calls her “an important part of the future of the blues” and blues legend Buddy Guy calls her live performance “amazing.”

As a master musician and multi-instrumentalist, Vanessa Collier, weaves funk, soul, rock and blues into every powerful performance. With soulful vocals, searing saxophone and witty songwriting, Vanessa is blazing a trail, racking up an impressive arsenal of honors including three Blues Music Awards—one for Contemporary Blues Female Artist of the Year. She has six albums to her credit, including 2018’s Honey Up, which spent nine weeks atop the Billboard Blues Album Charts Top 15.

While still completing her degree at Berklee, Collier landed a position touring with Joe Louis Walker before Joe encouraged her to strike out on her own. Collier now spends much of her time on the road, performing at prestigious venues like the Blues Music Awards, the Ottawa Blues Festival, the Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise, the Briggs Farm Festival and more.

While Collier says she’s happy performing on stages across the world, she also spends time running clinics across the country and is active with Blues in the Schools programs, hoping that she can make a difference with fans and followers along the way.
