Zydeco Flames

Aug 13, Sunday - 6pm
Blues/Big Easy Stage

The Zydeco Flames have gained a reputation as the West Coast’s premiere zydeco band. Their sizzling roots rhythms are timeless and the execution is relentless, with a stunningly powerful groove. The ensemble delights fans with hot zydeco in the tradition of masters like Clifton Chenier, Buckwheat Zydeco, and Queen Ida.

The group consistently packs the house in venues ranging from contemporary clubs to major festivals and traditional dancehalls, playing the likes of the Portland Blues Festival, San Francisco Jazz Festival, and the Black and White Ball. The group was awarded Best Zydeco Band by the West Coast Blues Society, and Best Original Song for “Don’t Worry” by the West Coast Cajun & Zydeco Association.

With their unique brand of Louisiana-spiced rhythms, infectious energy, and soulful ranges, these rousing entertainers have unleashed their talents on over ten original albums and compilations. They have also played for former President Bill Clinton at his re-election fundraiser, and have five songs featured on the popular computer reality game The Sims: Unleashed.
