Unlike ’50s jazz and ’90s rap, there’s no coastal rivalry in boogaloo music. So the Los Angeles-based Boogaloo Assassins show love to the blended Afro-Cuban and R&B genre that burst out of New York City in the 1960s by further infusing it with it with salsa and Latin soul.
